My Story

Greetings from Novato, CA. My name is Ian Dogole and pictured with me is my assistant, Honey. She tells me every day that I should do everything I can to be of service to my fellow humans and all other life forms.

Well, one way I can be of service is to assist my clients in reaching their target audiences through upbeat, compelling websites that effectively convey their message. I not only design the site, I’m available to write, edit and strategize the direction of the copy as well.

So, what got me into this business in the first place? Necessity.

For many years, I endured the frustration of a music website that had become increasingly stale and over which I had little control. I had to rely on professionals to insert/replace images and music or sit through a clumsy and slow FTP process every time I wanted to update a few lines of text. Over time, I began to avoid my site as if it had the plague and I no longer wanted anyone to see it. I was embarrassed.

I awakened one morning and decided to find out if there was a platform that would enable someone like me, who was not a techie and didn’t have a background in graphic design, to create my own website and make changes quickly and easily.

After visiting a couple of the more popular website platforms that appeared too technically demanding, I arrived at www.squarespace.com and found a template that appeared to fit my vision and I just started to create … one page at a time.

But here’s what really surprised me – I was able to overcome every technical challenge that I encountered and in a little over a week, I had created a new and much-improved site for my music business – www.iandogole.com. I update content on the site whenever I want and I see my changes instantly and without any complications.

I am a believer in Squarespace!

And now I’m creating professional-looking websites (with targeted copy) on the Squarespace platform for clients in the music, creative arts and nonprofit sectors. I’m also a member of the Squarespace Circle for web designers who demonstrate a commitment to the Squarespace platform.
